Wake-up detection runs on your iPhone, and on your Apple Watch when you wear one. Sleep, motion and step data are read locally and never leave your devices. When you use both, your iPhone and your watch sync directly with each other — and with nothing else.
With your permission the app reads sleep analysis and step counts from Apple Health, solely to find your wake time and so that iOS wakes the app when new steps arrive. It never writes to Health and never uses Health data for advertising or any other purpose.
No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no identifiers. Reminders are scheduled locally. There is nothing to sell, share or delete on your behalf.
Motion and fitness access is used to read the step and activity history your device already records — a long quiet stretch followed by movement or steps marks your wake-up. On the iPhone this history is read retroactively in the morning; on the watch it is joined by heart rate. Health access is optional, requested explicitly, and covers sleep analysis and step counts only. Notifications are your reminders; they are created and delivered on-device.
The diagnostics log (wake times, detection sources, latencies) is stored on your devices and leaves them only if you export and share it yourself.
If you use an Apple Watch alongside your iPhone, the two keep each other in step over Apple's WatchConnectivity link between the paired devices: the wake minute and which sensor found it, your reminders and which of them you have ticked off, whether the watch has the permissions it needs, and the diagnostics entries above. Raw sleep, heart-rate and step data are never part of that exchange, and none of it passes through a server of ours — we do not operate one.
